Photo Stories From January 20 to 25, 2007, the World Social Forum took place in Nairobi, Kenya. Tens of thousands of people gathered from many parts of Africa and the world to place social justice, international solidarity, gender equality, peace and defence of the environment on the agenda of the world's peoples. New Field Foundation enabled 42 delegates representing 17 partner organizations to participate in the Forum's numerous workshops and events, and to forge relationships with one another. The majority of the delegates were rural African women leaders, many of whom had never traveled outside their country or region before, and who took home a wealth of ideas and new connections.
